Program Overview

The CoSchool Empowering Schools Program provides a unique, flexible, pathway to uplift schools and teachers to enable delivery of stage 6 technology courses.

Responding to the critical skills gap in specialist ICT teaching, CoSchool partners with Schools in capability uplift, empowering schools to lead technology education in their communities.

Step 1:

Initial Discussion (no fee):

An initial, in-depth meeting with School Leader(s) to present the program and answer questions.

  • Describe the process, benefits, time commitments, program
    options, risk management, strategy and costs.
  • Assessment of existing teacher(s) and school capabilities,
    requirements and constraints for potential fit.
  • Identify specific concerns that could include items such
    as teacher retention, quality assurance, timing etc.

Step 2:

Holistic Assessment

An information gathering workshop to capture all relevant information required to develop the uplift program.

  • Participants: Teacher(s) and, optionally, School Leaders
  • Duration: 1×4 hour or 2×2 hour workshops
  • Focus areas:
    • Knowledge across relevant technology domains
    • Breadth of teaching experience
    • Program development experience
    • Specific school custom and practice
    • Constraints such as timeline and teacher workload

Step 3:

CoSchool designs the customised uplift program

Using information collected and CoSchool expertise, a bespoke program is created for your school and teacher(s).

Drawing on extensive teaching, leadership and technical expertise, CoSchool develops a program that is uniquely designed for your school. Including:
  •  All learning and development resources
  • Sample teaching programs and teaching units
  • Guidance and other recommendations

 

Step 4:

Uplift program discussion

An in-depth discussion of the program structure, content and recommendations.

  • Participants: School leaders and teacher(s)
  • Duration: 1×4 hour or 2×2 hour sessions
  • Program content includes:
  • Teacher learning material and strategy
  • Sample teaching programs and assessments
  • Program Timeline

Step 5:

CoSchool Guided Implementation

CoSchool supports your teachers as they learn and develop and transition into teaching the new courses.

Including:

  • 1 or 2-term duration through a flexible block hours model
  • Subject matter expertise and regular mentoring and check-ins
  • Advice on teaching programs, assessment development and assessment marking, 
  • Staff mentoring and development
